DIG at the Second EAGE Subsurface Intelligence Workshop

10 November, 2022

From October 30-31, Danilo Riascos, Juan Romero, Miguel Corrales and Nick Luiken presented their work at the Second EAGE Subsurface Intelligence Workshop. The aim of the workshop is to bring together people from academia and industry to discuss the latest developments on AI in the field of Geoscience. The workshop revolved around 3 main topics: Integration of Physics and AI, State of AI in Geosciences and Data Management. On the first day, Nick presented his work on combining self-supervised denoising with physics for seismic deblending via the Plug-and-Play method, after which Juan presented his joint work with Miguel and Nick on post-stack seismic inversion with CNN-based denoisers. The second day started with a panel discussion on the challenges of adopting AI/ML in Geosciences that saw Nick serving as a panel member. In the morning Miguel presented his work on 3D porous media generation with GANs, and in the afternoon Danilo talked about his project on picking dispersion curves with deep learning.
